- You control they type of oils that go into your dressing.
- You can ensure there are no undesirable additives, such as MSG. (This is my number one reason, since MSG gives me migraines.)

Making salad dressings became even easier with the introduction of the stick blender! {affiliate link} If you don’t have a stick blender, you can still make this salad dressing, see alternate instructions in the recipe.
Here’s my recipe:
Jalapeño Lime Salad Dressing
Ingredients
- 1/4 cup lime juice
- 2 tbsp white wine vinegar
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp dry mustard
- 1 medium jalapeño
- 2 cloves garlic
- 1/2 cup extra virgin olive oil
Instructions
- Wash jalapeño. Remove some or all seeds for a milder dressing. Cut into approx. 1 inch pieces.
- Peel garlic cloves
- Put all ingredients into a measuring cup or other container that has at least a 2 cup capacity.
- Mix with the stick blender until all ingredients are blended thoroughly.
- Use a regular blender or food processor if you don't have a stick blender.
